About

I talk fast, ask the right questions, let the data guide me and I get it done. Why....?

.....Because: 'Professionals stick to the schedule; amateurs let life get in the way' -Atomichabits

I have a PhD in Molecular Cell and Developmental Biology from the University of Miami, completed under the supervision of Dr. Juan Dominguez-Bendala. In my graduate work, I characterized a population of cells residing in pancreatic ducts which express the protein receptors ALK3 and P2RY1. These cells have the ability to differentiate into all three major lineages of the pancreas, and of particular interest amongst these types of cells are endocrine cells which secrete hormones regulating blood glucose in humans and vertebrates.

  • I am a developmental Islet biologist by training and have over 10 years of experience in pancreas biology.
  • I have a strong interest in computational biology with a focus on integrative systems biology, with over 5 years of experience in transcriptomic and genomic analysis.
My current interests involve using computational models to study sexual dimorphism across the molecular regulatory architecture of endocrine cells. I am interested in applying ML models to study disease biology across sex.

Please email me if you would like my CV!
